Three-Way Tie
This is an organizational tool shaped like a triangle that allows students to formulate their thinking and understanding of mathematical concepts. Students are given three different terms that are different but somewhat related and students must write at least one sentence that describes how the pair of words are connected. They write the sentence on the line that connects the two words. After they connect all the words, they will write a summary that describes the relationship between all three words, how they are all related together. That summary will go in the middle of the triangle. This strategy helps students connect all the little terms together and turn it into a big picture. Below is an example of this strategy.
